The Petersen Lightning Loader is a hydraulically operated knuckleboom loader to be used in the handling of sand and aggregate. This unit is designed to be mounted on a stationary pedestal base, such as a concrete foundation or other fixed structure. Petersen has manufactured grapple loaders for the local Florida aggregate market since 1960, and now they're available nationally.
Petersen is in the business of making knuckleboom lifting devices. Our main market is in "Grapple Trucks" for the solid waste market. This same boom assembly is used for the aggregate market, so our national dealer network is available to you if you need parts or service on your unit.
All Lightning Loaders come with a 3 year structural, 1 year hydraulic warranty. We make almost every part on this unit, with exception of some small washers, the rotac, and the bucket cutting edges. We machine and assemble the parts here at our Central Florida factory including the hydraulic cylinders and the clamshell bucket, giving you a consistent source for parts, and a single point of responsiblity for the performance of the grapple loader unit. Give us a call if you would like to come see where Lightning Loaders are made, and we'll be happy to give you a factory tour.
